Overview

At the heart of every genisys system is the electronic control module (ECU), governing communication between all system modules. This intelligent node digests and sends protocols to the numerous user interfaces and output modules, which can be multiplexed around the vehicle.

Once configured by the PC, the ECU holds information about the whole system setup including module types and addresses. Not only does the ECU determine the status of the complete array of switches by monitoring all the input and keypad channels, it also runs self-monitoring diagnostics.

Should any of the components in the system fail to respond correctly, then an error report can be sent to Keypad LCDs and/or audible voice alerts. This allows rapid fault diagnosis speeding up not only installation related problems but also in-field repairs.
